The President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Mr. Segun Arinze has confirmed the kidnapp of ace comedian and multiple award-winning actor, Nkem Owoh popularly known as Osuofia. Mr. Owoh was kidnapped on Monday along Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway and his kidnappers are demanding for a ransome of N15million about $100,000. His kidnap came barely few months after the kidnap of veteran actor, Pete Edochie was kidnapped along Afor Nkpor road in Idemili North local government area of Anambra State.

Nigeria’s government is asking cinemas to stop showing a science fiction film, District Nine, that it says denigrates the country’s image. The National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB), has suspended three staff, who allegedly embarked on unauthorised monitoring and raiding of films and video clubs.
